Below is an abridged version of
the PSC policies on trips. Items of special importance have been
highlighted:
5.1.
Sign-Ups
5.1.1. Only a “Member in Good Standing
may sign up for an event. Guests can
only be signed up by a member, except for events specified by Board to be open to
nonmembers.
5.1.2.
Only Club members may participate in over night trips.
5.1.3. Sign-ups for an event may not be
taken until after the event information has appeared in the newsletter or e-Bulletin.
5.1.4. A complete registration form must
accompany all sign-ups. If the sign-up
is for a guest, both the guest and member names must appear on the registration
form.
5.1.5. A member or guest may be denied
access to a trip if in the opinion of the trip leader the participant does not have
the physical / mental health or skill to participate safely in the event.
The decision of the trip leader may be appealed to the Board.
5.1.6. If either the check or the coupon
is missing the participant does not have a reservation.
If a coupon is received from a lapsed member, it will not be considered until
membership dues have been paid.
5.1.7. No minor under 18 will be permitted
on a trip without being accompanied by a parent or else a guardian over 21. Minors
under 12 must room with a parent or guardian, and that person is responsible for
the child's behavior throughout the trip.

5.2.
Priority
Members
have priority until after the trip cancellation deadline.
Until then, each membership (individual and family) is permitted one guest
with the same priority for the event.
To receive the member priority and price on a trip, those signing up must have an
active membership at the time they sign up, as well as when the trip departs. Coupons received from former or lapsed
PSC members shall have not have any priority and shall not be place on any confirmed
or wait list.

5.3.
Guests
5.3.1. Guests must be signed-up by a member. The member assumes responsibility
for the guest. An $4 non-member fee
will be added to the cost of all events for non-members. This fee may be waived at the discretion
of the Board.
5.3.2. Guests must sign a liability waiver
form.

5.4.
Waitlist
Trip leaders will maintain a sequential list of sign-ups and participants
will be accepted for the trip in sequential order.
Sometimes it may be necessary to select someone out of sequential order. For instance, a confirmed participant
who drops out will be replaced with a person from the wait list of like gender.
The trip leader is expected to use good judgment in the execution of this policy.

5.5.
Cancellations
5.5.1.
Cancellation Before Deadline
A member or guest who signs up for
an event and then cancels before the published deadline shall be assessed a cancellation
penalty of $2.00 for each day of the event, or as otherwise stated in the newsletter
announcement of the event.
5.5.2. Cancellation
After Deadline
A member or guest who cancels after the deadline (regardless of the sign-up date)
shall be liable for up to the full per person cost of the event.
Such penalty shall be limited to the actual loss sustained by the Club as
a result of the cancellation. The minimum
penalty shall be $2 for each day of the event. In cases of multiple cancellations
after the deadline, all those who cancel will share equally in the losses resulting
in those cancellations.
5.5.3. There are no excusable cancellations.
Questions about cancellation policy interpretation that cannot be satisfactorily
resolved with the event leader should be referred to the President or Vice President.
5.5.4. The Princeton Ski Club reserves
the right to cancel any event at any time.
If an event is canceled, all monies received will be refunded.
5.5.5. In extreme cases, an event
may be canceled after the deadline by the President and Seasonal Chairperson, in
consultation with the event leader, to minimize losses to participants.
In such cases, all persons who were on the trip roster as of the trip deadline,
but subsequently withdrew, shall share equally in the financial losses.
The Club shall assume a portion of the financial responsibility, such portion
to be established by the Board.
5.5.6. Refunds
A participant will not be granted refunds for any irrecoverable
losses that occur to the Club

5.6.
Payment
Policy5.6.1.
It is expected that participants will make timely
payments according to the event payment
schedule. 5.6.2.
If a participant does not make payment according to
the event payment schedule, hi/her place may be offered to others on
the waiting list. This
will be treated as a cancellation. Any refund will be subject
to the refund policy. 5.6.3.
“Non-Sufficient Fund” checks will be
considered the same as if the payment had not been made.
